The drawing class of biological scientific illustration

Introduction

To realize the goal of becoming an interdisciplinary platform, the TAIDA Museum Provisional Office first introduced botanical illustration—a romance between art and science—on its Facebook page. In response to the pandemic and fan enthusiasm, the event was turned into a virtual event, and in turn became TAIDA Museum Provisional Office’s first livestreamed event. We were honored to have Hu Jer-Ming, Professor and Chair of the Institute of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Curator of NTU Herbarium, give us a tutorial on scientific botanical illustration. The event was for beginners looking to have their first taste of botanical illustration and it included drawing tips, techniques, drawing materials, and demonstration.
